It arrived yesterday. I have a 1997 Chevy that I started after not using for a few weeks. Outstanding item. I spent 30 minutes skimming the owners manual. It felt like it sputtered when starting (which I felt was a misfire)and the engine light came on. In the past when something simple like this happened on my other vehicles, it would always cost me $60 - $90 to have it cleared.This time I searched the internet and found this. Then when I connected it to the car, it took less than 10 seconds to diagnose and I cleared the code within a minute. I paid $135 and have already saved a $90 shop fee.This item is very user freindly and is updateable via the internet to upgrade the "ABS" feature.I'm completely satisfied.
I bought this and really like the product. It save a LOT of time, money and aggravation finding an intermittent error that was causing a stall problem.The unit is easy to use and very full featured.My only complaint with the unit is that the PC interface is RS-232.I have not seen a notebook with an RS-232 interface in years.If you need the PC interface and only have USB ports be sure to but an RS-232 to USB converter with the unit (About $10).
I would recomend this product to anyone that works on there own vehicle.I used it on my JEEP WRANGLER 2002,and I found the problem in just a few minutes.I am sure it will pay for itself in a short time.
The tool is excellent and provides all the functionality to identify and diagnose a problem. It reads all error codes and interprets even manufacturer specific codes, after minimal navigation.I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs such a tool.
Same with my son's vehicle. I hooked it up and it worked perfectly. I bought this product because 2 Autozones couldn't read my error code with their Actron scanner. The unit is easy to read and understand. Changed the O2 sensor and watched the screen for a couple of days until it had passed all tests. My vehicle passed the emissions test. Software comes with it but I haven't tried it yet. This unit is a good buy.
